Maa Naina Devi Temple : This temple is located in 51 km away from Bilaspur. This temple is famous for Maa Naina devi. This temple is made by Raja Birchand in 8 th centuary. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Sati, who sacrificed herself to burn alive to avenge her husband, Lord Shiva. But Lord shiva picked up the body of Sati and started his gyrating dance known as the Tandava dance. To stop the Tandav dance of lord shiva and for save the universe, Lord vishnu decided to stop him.
Lord Vishnu, with the help of his Chakra, cut the corpse of Sati into fifty one pieces. The peices of her body wherever fell it becames the holy place for the Hindu religion. The place, where her eyes “Naina” fell is the temple of the Naina Devi today. It is the one of the religious and holiest place for Hindus. The Govind Sagar Lake and Bharka Dam is situated near this temple.
Maa JawalaMukhi Temple : This temple is located in 20 km away from kangra. In this temple the flames, which burn permanently.The meaning of Jawalmukhi is mouth of flames and Jwala Ji means flames.This temple is one of the Shakti peeth out of total 51 shakti peeths of Goddess sati. According to the myths, the tongue of Sati fell in this place and the temple is named after the goddess Sati. In dusshera navratra here organised a big festival. Mata Chintpurni devi Temple : It is a famous religious site in Himachal pradesh and famous for Maa chintpurni devi. It is located in the Una district. It is one the peeth out of total 51 peeth of Goddeess Sati. According to the myths, the feet of Sati fell in this place and the temple is named after the goddess Sati. Maa Chamunda Devi Temple : This temple is located in 8 km away from dharamsala in Himachal pradesh. It is one the peeth out of total 51 shakti peeth of Goddeess Sati. According to the Hindu mythology, the trunk of Sati had fallen in this place after her body is cut into fifty one pieces by Lord Vishnu with his chakra. Maa Bajreshwari devi Temple : This temple is located in town Nagarkot, kangra District and dedicated to Devi Vajreshwari, the Goddess of Lightening. Baijnath Temple : It’s ancient temple, which was built in 804 A.D. and dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is located in baijnath 16 km away from Palampur in Kangra district. According to the Hindu mythology, Ravana once worshipped Shiva in this temple. The temple was built in the 13th century. Every year during the Shivratri fair, thousands of pilgrims descend on Baijnath for the colourful fair and festivities. It is one of the famous out of the famous Religious places.
Bijli Mahadev Temple : This temple is located in 14 km away from kullu and situated at an altitude of 2,435 meters. The temple is dedicated to Hindu God Lord Shiva. The temple is called Bijli Mahadev because of the 60 feet high staff, which attracts lightning Bijli and every time it destroys the Shiv Lingh. Manikaran : This is very famous pilgrimage place in Himachal Pradesh, which is located in 10 km away from Kullu, 1 km away from this place a beautiful Parvati Ganga name place is here. Manikaran is famous for hot springs, Thousands of people take a dip in its hot waters. There is an ancient Hindu temple and a gurdwara here. Manikaran is also associated with Lord Shiva and his divine consort, Parvati, who lost and recovered her ear-ring here.
