Chamba is an ancient town and district in Himachal Pradesh, The ancient name of chamba is champa. Champa name is given by the Raja Sahil varma 10 th century A.D who named of his favourite daughter name. In ancient History the capital of Chamba is Bharmour, It is the land of Lord Shiva is famous for its natural beauty. In This district mostly Gaddi caste peoples are live, In here Chaugan land, Rajmahal and historical Laxmi narayan temple are famous to visit. Lake and Kailash Mounatain are also is good place to visit. Dalhousie : It is famous hill station in this district situated in dauladhar range. Bakrota Bazzar is good and beautiful place, In summer dalhousie is fill with diffrent types of flowers, from here Ravi, Satluj and Beas river beautiful view is seen.
Khajjiar : It is situated 22 km far from Dalhousie, it is a plateau. There is round shape lush green ground and in middle a small lake sorrounded by pines and deoder trees. A liitle far from lake a khajji nag temple is situated.
Laxmi Narayan Temple : It is the main temple of this town, was buitl by Raja Sahil Verma in 10 th century A.D. Lakshmi Narayana Temple has a mandapa like structure also. The wooden chhattries, the shell roof, atop the temple were in response to the local climatic conditions as a protection against snowfall.
Chamunda Devi Temple : It is an ancient temple of Chamunda Mata, just 1 km away from Chaugan. It was Built by Raja Udam singh, it is good place for picnic. It offer’s a beautiful view of the town to a touristers.
Chaugan : It is a grassy maidan less than one-kilometre in length and about seventy-five metres wide is a busy local trading centre for villagers from the surrounding hills. In this chaugan organised a large number of sports and cultural activities.
